Delete Your RukuMix Account
You have the right to delete your account and all personal data at any time. This page explains exactly how to do it and what happens to your data.
Method 1 — Delete Inside the App
The fastest way. Deletion is immediate and requires no waiting period.
- Open the RukuMix app on your device
- Tap your Profile icon (bottom-right corner)
- Tap Settings (gear icon, top-right)
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Read the confirmation screen and tap Continue
- Tap Delete My Account to confirm permanently
Two confirmation steps are required to prevent accidental deletion. Your account and all data are deleted immediately upon final confirmation.
Method 2 — Request Deletion by Email
If you can no longer access the app, email us and we will delete your account manually within 5 business days.
- Email us at support@rukumix.com
- Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request
- Include the email address registered to your RukuMix account
- We will confirm receipt within 24 hours and complete deletion within 5 business days
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, all of the following is permanently removed:
- Your profile — name, photo, bio, and all account information
- All RukuPosts (meetups) you created
- All chat messages and direct conversations
- Your connections and friend relationships
- Achievements, badges, and leaderboard data
- All notifications and activity history
- Location data and session history
- Authentication credentials (email, Apple Sign-In link)
Data Retention After Deletion
Encrypted Backup Copies
Retained up to 90 days
For system recovery and security purposes, encrypted backups may contain residual data for up to 90 days. This data is not accessible or used during this period and is permanently purged after 90 days.
Legal & Fraud Prevention
Retained as required by law
If your account was involved in a legal dispute, fraud investigation, or violation of our Terms, certain records may be retained as required by applicable law or legitimate business interests.
Anonymised Analytics
No time limit — cannot identify you
Aggregate, anonymised statistics (e.g. total meetups created in a city) may be retained indefinitely. These cannot be linked back to you or your account in any way.
Important
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once confirmed, your account cannot be recovered.
- You are signed out immediately after account deletion.
- Back up anything you want to keep before proceeding (e.g. photos you uploaded).
- Location data is deleted immediately — we do not retain your location after deletion or after you close the app.
